We seek to elevate the quality of community education on spiritual, cultural, and artistic aspects of our African heritage. On August 25, 2018, the Cultural, Spiritual, Traditional Center (CCST) Inc. had its grand opening. The celebration was blessed by his Majesty Dada Daagbo Hounon Hounan ll, Suprême Vodou King of Houidah Bénin. The Afro Atlantic Theology Fondation; Sosyete Racine Lakay, Sosyete Adjeminfor, Sosyete Claire Heureuse, and various Community Notables extended to us much-needed love and support. CCST’s ultimate goals are to promote higher levels of Spiritual, Cultural, Literature, sports, and Artistic Awareness among our people, based on learning to live well; and to share our knowledge and spiritual kindness with one another, as prescribed in the Holy Grammar, Zakanj, the Angels and the Zanset. As we grow to embrace our heritage and tradition, we recently created a Sacred Temple in order to improve our present Spiritual conditions while creating a divine home for future generations. We seek to elevate the quality of community education on spiritual, cultural, and artistic aspects of our African heritage. We will focus our efforts on the teaching of African and Haitian histories, works of literature, and artifacts. Such efforts will include artistic development, promoting the production of quality artworks, the organizing of artwork exhibits, dance workshops, and producing shows/performances and other Haitian tradition-based activities. To achieve these goals, we will establish a recording studio to register Haitian and African musical works, and a learning center for classes on Haitian, African-American and African languages; organize roundtables to promote dialogues/conversations on spirituality and literacy; have monthly Traditional Ceremonial Temple meetings or “Kandjanwou”; welcome on a quarterly basis special guest speakers to deliver lectures/ make presentations on leading key cultural and artistic topics; and organize exhibits showcasing local and international talents, which we will honor at an Annual recognitions award Ceremony.

also envision—in our own space--after-school programs, and weekend workshops for youths
and adults on the visual and performing arts, as well as on numeracy and literacy (in English
and Haitian Creole). In addition to seeking funding from both the public and private sectors
within and outside of our community--and by engaging actively with traditional and social media-
-we endeavor to develop opportunities and platforms for entrepreneurs to market goods that
include arts, crafts, culinary, and health products, and services. Not least, we aim to be a force
that defends the right of our people—including new arrivals—and to provide opportunities for
conflict resolution and mental well-being.
